Many years ago, my mother made us soursweet cabbage pie using apple and possibly rhubarb to add the flavoring. I'm a stickler for recipes and I'm hopeless without them. The next year, we asked for the recipe, but my mother completely forgot she ever made it and how.
When I search the internet, I only find recipes for hearty, savory cabbage pie.
Description; It was similar to apple pie in taste and consistency, suggesting a lot of pectin. The cabbage or lettuce still had it's crunch and added it's own flavor to the desert.
Can anyone help me reconstruct the recipe?
