So here's a long shot. I received a book of recipes handed down from a few generations. One important recipe was missing. My (Hungarian) Grandmother passed down a recipe for "goulash" to my mother, who made it quite frequently. (Caps used here for emphasis...) THE IMPORTANT COMPONENT OF THIS RECIPE WAS CARAWAY SEEDS. It was very distinctive and really delicious. The typical recipe we enjoyed had primarily beef and potatoes in a rich sauce of some sort. While there may have been a tomato component, it was not predominant. I'm sure paprika was also an ingredient. If anyone knows of such a recipe (WITH CARAWAY seeds), I'd be very grateful. I plan to experiment with recipes I find onlline and just add the caraway, but it'd be nice if there was actually one in existence out there. Thanks Reddit Foodies and Friends!
