[REQUEST] A BBQ sauce that doesn't taste like vinegar

First attempt at BBQ sauce didn't go well. I used this recipe and all I could taste was the ACV. I added water and brown sugar to mask the taste but didn't make much of a difference. Any advice or recipe recommendations?
