Ingredients:
1 tbsp butter
1 small white onion, finely diced
4-6 cloves of garlic, finely diced
1 15oz can of tomato sauce
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup vodka
1 package potato gnocchi (1bout 17oz)
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tbsp basil
3 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Warm butter in large skillet or pot over medium heat until melted- add in onion, sauté for around 7 minutes. Add in garlic, cook for around 30 seconds.
Add in tomato sauce and vodka, allow to simmer for about a minute, then add in heavy cream, Italian seasoning, pepper flakes, and basil. Stir well, cover, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Stir in parmesan, salt, and pepper, and allow to simmer for a few more minutes until parmesan is well melted and gnocchi is nice and soft. Serve immediately.
I like to serve this with buttered Italian bread.
*It has occurred to me that I have no idea what the metric equivalents of a tablespoon or cup would be, or even the unit theyd be measured in. Sorry about that!
bon appetit
