The past five years, my husband and I have spent the Christmas holidays with our respective families and their traditions. This year, we are going to have Christmas alone for the first time. My husband loves to cook and is excited to be making our main course and sides (already is planning this out). I want to do something special too - so I suggested that I make a pie. I want to do something from scratch and that isn't a can-dump-mix scenario. I really want to make it special, and I truly don't mind if it takes a long time from start to finish.
