Tequila shrimp is a thing around my house and this one, which uses literally nothing more than you might have around the house is the best so far.
Ingredients:
-
1 1/2 peeled and deveined shrimp
-
1 tsp. of salt
-
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
-
2 Tbsp. olive oil
-
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
-
3-4 Tbsp. tequila
-
2-3 Tbsp. lime juice
-
Zest from all the limes used in the recipe
-
1-2 Tbsp. cilantro (fresh)
Directions
Season the shrimp with salt, and pepper.
Heat up a skillet and add the olive oil.
Saute the garlic for a little bit before adding the shrimp.
Continue to cook the shrimp until they turn lightly opaque.
Drizzle in the tequila, toss the skillet a few times. Add the lime juice, zest and stir to combine well.
Turn off the heat and add the cilantro. Serve the tequila shrimp with rice.
