My late grandmother made the best vegetable soup, but unfortunately she never wrote down her recipe. My family has tried to recreate it through the years, but have not been successful. The soup was a tomato based red/orange color, with ground beef, macaroni noodles, okra, corn, Lima beans, potatoes, and tomatoes. She put bacon grease and sugar in everything, like any we’ll respected southern woman should, but we are not sure if these ingredients were in the soup. Looking for recipe suggestions. I may never be able to recreate her soup, but wouldn’t mind making something similar in her honor.
