It was cheaper to buy a huge box of cinnamon sticks when I only needed one. What can I make with the rest of them?

Home Made Vodka Sauce

Vodka sauce is maybe the best quick-fix pasta dish you can make. It's a real treat and it can be ready in just a few minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. Butter

  • 1 Onion, sliced fine

  • 3-4 cloves garlic, sliced fine

  • 1 cup vodka

  • Salt and Pepper

  • 1 15 oz. ounce can (or home made) tomato puree

  • 1 cup cream

  • Red cracked pepper

  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

  • Pasta (penne and buccotini or my favorites)

  • Basil and more Parmesan for garnish

Directions

Melt butter and when the froth dies down, saute the onions and garlic for about 2-3 minutes.

Add the vodka and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes, or so.

Then add the tomato puree, cream, a little red cracked pepper, salt and a little black pepper and allow to simmer for about 20 minutes or perhaps a little more.

Add the Parmesan to the mix and serve over pasta, garnished with some fresh basil and more cheese.
