How To Make Puppy Chow!

So, many of you might already know this recipe, but I wanted to share it with those who haven't tried this delicious snack! Keep in mind this recipe DOES contain peanut butter. So, puppy chow is a great treat with chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar.

Here are the ingredients:

  • 1/2 a cup of peanut butter
  • 1/4 a cup of butter
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla
  • 9 cups of Crispix or Chex (the cereal, not Chex Mix)
  • 3 cups of powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Combine peanut butter, butter, and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.

  2. Microwave for one minute then stir to blend all ingredients thoroughly. Then add the vanilla and stir.

  3. Place the 9 cups of Crispix or Chex in a very large bowl.

  4. Pour the peanut butter-chocolate mixture evenly over the bowl. May need to stir them together to make sure every piece is coated with the mixture.

  5. Place powdered sugar into a strong, large container like a zip-lock plastic bag. I tend to use a large brown grocery bag, however.

  6. Add the chocolate covered Chex or Chispix into the bowl.

  7. Shake the bag vigorously for about one minute to coat the Chex with powdered sugar.

Once you have done that, you place it into a large serving bowl and enjoy! I find this treat to be the best desert item of all time, and me and my siblings make it about once a month. Also, you can look up pictures online to see if you made this treat correctly. With that said, I hope you enjoyed!
