Sweet Bakery Bread recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 8.8 oz flour

  • ¾ tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp yeast

  • 5 ½ tbsps tepid water

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 egg

  • 4 tsps oil

  • 1 beaten egg for basting

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tbsps sugar

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tsps vanilla extract

  • Grated coconut

LET'S GET COOKING...

  • Mix the flour, salt and sugar. Reserve.

  • Place the yeast in a bowl and add warm water. Mix until dissolved.

  • Lightly beat the yolks with the eggs and add to the yeast mixture.

  • Add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture, mixing with a wooden spoon, gradually adding the oil.

  • Knead the dough until very smooth. Let it grow for 1 hour.

  • Shape the dough into balls and arrange them on a round cake pan, greased.

  • Brush with egg and let it rest for 40 minutes.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.

  • Blend water, egg yolks, starch and vanilla extract.

  • Arrange the mixture into a saucepan and bring to a simmer over low heat until thickened.

  • When the bread is ready, top it with the custard and sprinkle grated coconut.
