INGREDIENTS

8.8 oz flour

¾ tsp salt

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp yeast

5 ½ tbsps tepid water

1 egg yolk
-
1 egg
-
4 tsps oil
-
1 beaten egg for basting

1 cup water
-
2 tbsps sugar
-
2 egg yolks
-
1 tbsp cornstarch
-
2 tsps vanilla extract

Grated coconut
LET'S GET COOKING...

Mix the flour, salt and sugar. Reserve.

Place the yeast in a bowl and add warm water. Mix until dissolved.

Lightly beat the yolks with the eggs and add to the yeast mixture.

Add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture, mixing with a wooden spoon, gradually adding the oil.

Knead the dough until very smooth. Let it grow for 1 hour.

Shape the dough into balls and arrange them on a round cake pan, greased.

Brush with egg and let it rest for 40 minutes.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.

Blend water, egg yolks, starch and vanilla extract.

Arrange the mixture into a saucepan and bring to a simmer over low heat until thickened.

When the bread is ready, top it with the custard and sprinkle grated coconut.
