Trying to melt chocolate for brownies, need help

Hey everyone, I was watching a video from the Epicurious Channel for 4 Levels of Brownies, and the professional chef uses melted chocolate with butter instead of cocoa powder for the brownie mix. I'm using a different recipe for the brownies overall, because the video doesn't give you one and I was planning on replacing the amount of cocoa powder with the melted chocolate to try and see how it goes, and I have a couple of questions.

  1. Do you think this will work? Can I change one ingredient with the other with the same amount and still have it work out?
  2. If it does, what proportion of chocolate to butter should I melt? Say for example, should I do 1 cup Chocolate and 1 cup butter? I really don't have an idea of this.
  3. If it doesn't, do you think I should change the quanity of the replaced cocoa powder? Instead of 1 cup of melted chocolate, use 1 1/2? Something like that?

Thank you very much!

bon appetit
