What is the best type of rice to make Congee?

So I’ve been thinking of making congee for the first time, however, the videos I’ve watched and recipes I’ve read don’t mention what type of grain is preferable.

Is it possible to make congee with just jasmine rice or even brown rice? Seeing as how those are my favourite.

Or would it just be best taste and authenticity wise if I were to just use ordinary white rice?
