Easy but Yummy Puto Cheese Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Two (2) cups cake flour
  • Two (2) Tbsp. baking powder
  • One (1) cup white sugar
  • One (1) cup water
  • One-half (1/2) cup evaporated milk
  • 125 gram cheese bar cut into small strips
  • dash of salt
  • assorted food coloring (optional)

How to prepare:

  1. Sift cake flour and mix it with the baking powder, sugar and salt.
  2. Pour in slowly the water and milk in the flour mixture and mix it together thoroughly to avoid lumps.
  3. Divide the mixture according to your desired colors.
  4. Mix the food coloring in each mixture to come up with color variation of your puto cheese
  5. While mixing your ingredients, boil enough water in the steamer.
  6. While boiling the water, pour mixture into the greased puto cheese molders.
  7. Top each filled molder with sliced cheese strips
  8. Steam the puto cheese for about ten to twelve minutes or until done.
