Beef Steam roast in pot is a pretty cool recipe. I have tried it twice and found it highly tasty and tender. Above all, it can be freeze for special events before final steaming process.
Ingredients:
Beef chunks: 2 kg Vinegar: 1 cup Salt : 3.1/2 tbs Yougart: 500 g Lemon Juice: 2 tbs Ginger: 1 tbs Garlic: 1 tbs All spice powder: 1tbs Red Chili flacks: 1.1/2 Red Chili Powder: 1tbs Coriander Powder: 1 tbs Turmeric Powder: 1 tbs Oil: 2 cups
First Step |Preparing meat|
Add 3tbs salt and 1 cup to the beef chunks, mix well, pour it in a sieve and leave it for about an hour to drain
Second Step |Fry salted meat|
Heat 2 cup oil and light fry salted meat.
Third Step |Marinating|
Add all spices, ginger, garlic and lemon juice into yogurt and apply on the fried beef. Leave it 6-7 hours. You can even prepare a night before your event. After this, we only need roughly 2 hours for steaming.
Final step |Steaming|
If you have steamer, you can use. Depending on your steamer setting. It needs very slow flame to be done. I’m following this method for steaming. Take a large skillet, two sieves and 2 glass water. Set sieves and pour 2 glass water. Set marinated beef on the top sieve and put the skillet on the burner. Let the water simmer and cover lid. Now set a very low flame. Leave it for about 2 hours. Done!
