Just wanted to share something I made the other day that was really good, it reminded me of some asian dish that I'm not sure even exists.
First, here is the recipe for the candied jalapenos (it's at the bottom of the article). The recipe says to let it sit for a month, but it was fine after two days.
Secondly, I made 5 minute rice with:
- 2 cups rice
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons of cilantro (I used this cilantro paste cuz the store was out of fresh cilantro)
- green onion (I'm not sure how much, but really you can add however much you like)
- powdered garlic (sorry, I'm not much for measuring all the time. Again, just add however much you want)
- about three lime wedges squeezed in
I just cooked the rice as the instructions said, drained it, then mixed everything in. Afterward, I just spooned some rice into a bowl and added the candied jalapenos (however much you want, I used about 10 little slices of jalapenos) to it. Then I put in some sriracha sauce, a small amount of soy sauce, and chow mein noodles. This is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time, I could imagine it being sold in restaurants.
Sorry for the unspecific measurements, I don't really do a lot of it when cooking when it comes to spices or herbs.
