[Help] Can anyone tell me what the top layer of this tiramisu is and how to make it?

I get this at a local sushi restaurant. I know it's tiramisu, but without lady fingers. It seems to be a chocolate cake layered with the mascarpone layer but there's a glossy layer on top, it almost reminds me of flan but I cannot find any tiramisu recipes that have this. Any ideas?
