is it normal for some ice cream to be very dry?

sorry this isn't about home-made ice cream but it seemed like a good place to find people with knowledge about food. i think i might have gotten damaged ice cream? the last flavour (ginger) i got from this brand was icey-slushy but this (red bean) has a texture like all the humidity is missing.
