So I like to experiment with recipes and try to re-create recipes at home that I like or think could be improved from restaurants and coffee places like starbucks. I like starbucks but a lot of their drinks are too sweet and lacking in real flavor so i’ve come up with a few that are inspired by their drinks I thought i’d share.
note: I guesstimate measurements and mostly eyeball portions so these are easily customizable. also, I don’t drink dairy so if you want to use vegan alternatives I suggest creamers or milk made from almonds, cashews, macadamias or coconut.
-chai cold brew- -powdered cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom -2 black tea bags -vanilla coconut creamer -2-3 tablespoons of dark roast or espresso coffee grinds -french press -regular mason or ball jar (holds 2 cups of coffee)
1)put spices, coffee and tea bags in jar with tea bag strings hanging out, fill with water, close lid with strings out and shake. 2)leave in the fridge over night 3)pull out of fridge, shake then open and pour into french press throwing out tea bags. 4)use press to filter out grinds then serve with vanilla coconut creamer.
-snicker doodle cold brew- -powdered cinnamon and cardamom -2-3 tablespoons of dark roast or espresso grinds -french press -jar 1)put grinds and spices in jar, and fill with water. 2)shake and put in the fridge over night. 3)take out, shake and use press to filter grinds.
-pumpkin spice latte- -pumpkin puree (you can get it in a can) -powdered cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, nutmeg, ginger -coffee grinds -whatever equipment you have to make regular coffee -blender -vanilla or plain creamer or milk
1)make coffee 2)put coffee, spices, milk or creamer in blender and blend well 3) drink
-juniper latte- (woodsy taste) -juniper berry essential oil extract (3-5 drops) -coffee grinds -whatever you have to make coffee -vanilla, plain or caramel creamer
1)make coffee 2)add juniper and coffee creamer 3)drink
note: heat will make the essential oil flavor stronger especially as it sits so you don’t need much and make sure it’s real juniper essential oil.
-coffee breakfast smoothie- -coffee or cold brew (it’s good warm or cold) -banana -instant plain oatmeal -coffee creamer of choice (suggestions: chocolate or hazelnut flavored) -powdered cinnamon -blender
1)make coffee or cold brew 2)put coffee or cold brew and other ingredients into blender 3) blend until smooth then drink
