Help with Mongolian Chicken

I know this isn't authentic Chinese cuisine, but I really love the Mongolian chicken at my local takeout place. I wish I could make something similar at home, but every recipe I have found online makes a chicken that is sickly sweet. It is simply not the same dish at all. The Mongolian chicken that I enjoy from the takeout place has some very light sweetness, but most of the flavor is savory/spicy. It has a dark brown sauce that is very runny. It is so good and I wish I could find a recipe for something similar.

Can anyone help me?
