home made biscotti

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cup self rising flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon anise extract

Split dough into 2 parts and make flat loaves from it, put flat loaves on parchment paper. The flat loaves will spread out and rise up a bit when they cook, leave enough room on each side (2 inches maybe) The dough is insanely sticky be prepared to curse a lot.

Bake at 350F for 25 min Leave the oven on Let the two loaves cool for 10 min Cut across each loaves to make biscotti, you can do this with a serrated knife (or a normal one if you are like me) I make mine about 1/4 inch... really just depends on how thick you like your biscotti

put the biscotti slices on their side and put back in the oven for 5 min turn the biscotti slices over and cook for 5 more min

Now take them and store (or just eat them all). Store in air tight container... honestly not sure how long they will keep.

yummy biscotti pic

bon appetit
