Tofu and Chicken Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 300 g firm tofu

  • 100 g ground chicken

  • green onions, minced

  • 30 g carrot, minced

  • 1 shiitake mushroom, minced

  • 1 tsp potato starch

  • 1 tsp sake

  • 1 tsp salt

  • (sauce)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sake

  • 1 tbsp water

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 clove garlic

Let's get Cooking...

  • Drain tofu of excess water by wrapping and setting them aside in paper towels (about 30 minutes)

  • In a bowl, combine ground chicken, green onions, carrots, shiitake mushroom, potato starch, sake and salt and mix well. Divide into 6 portions.

  • Cut tofu into 12 equal blocks. Place the ground chicken mixture onto six of the tofu blocks and top them off with the other six.

  • Coat tofu sandwiches with potato starch. Heat some oil in a frying pan and cook the tofu sandwiches on all sides.

  • Cover and steam for 2 minutes.

  • Once chicken mixture is cooked through, pour in ingredients for the sauce. Cook until sauce is slightly thickened.

    • Serve with perilla leaves and your favorite vegetables.
