[REQUEST] Looking for a soft, airy, fried doughnut recipe to use as a base for future creations

I'm looking to experiment with doughnuts and creating new flavors for both the doughnut and the glaze, and am especially looking for a recipe for the doughnut itself. It seems a lot of recipes are either baked or too dense and not something similar to what you'd find at a local doughnut shop or bakery.

Can anyone recommend me a website or a book for beginners that has a great recipe to follow and learn from? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
