The Best Apple Dumpling Recipe I've Ever Tried

Prep Time: 20 min Total Time: 1 hr

Apple Filling

  1. 3-4 Large Granny Smith Apple
  2. 1 Tbsp corn starch or Flour
  3. 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  4. 2 Tbsp Sugar
  5. 1 tsp Cinnamon

Dumpling

  1. 2 1/4 C Bisquick
  2. 2/3 C Milk

Brown Sugar Sauce

  1. 1 C Brown Sugar
  2. 1 C Water
  3. 2 Tbsp Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven to 350°
  2. Peel, Core, and Chop Apples into cubes
  3. Mix apple cubes with 1 Tbsp brown sugar, 1 Tbsp Sugar, cinnamon, and corn starch
  4. Next make dough for dumplings, mix Bisquick and Milk
  5. It will seem dry but the dough will all mix together
  6. Roll dough out to about 6 to 8 inch round
  7. Place Apple mixture in center and fold dough around apples
  8. Place Dumpling with smooth side up into a pan. If you are making multiply dumplings a 9X13 pan will due. If you are making 2-4 dumplings I used a small casserole dish
  9. Make brown sugar sauce
  10. In a sauce pan over med heat mix brown sugar, water and butter
  11. Heat until sugar is dissolved
  12. Then pour over dumpling
  13. Bake dumpling at 350° for 40 min or until apples are tender
  14. Serve with milk or ice cream
