1985 Taco Bell Meat and Mild Sauce

After years of research, this is the most authentic version of pre YUM brands Taco Bell meat (which was amazingly delicious and fresh)

Enjoy!

1985 Taco Bell Seasoning: 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon chili powder (typical store variety) 1 teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon Accent/MSG 1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon onion powder ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper dash garlic powder 1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup water

Mix seasoning together in a small bowl and then work into the ground beef. Add water and beef mixture to favorite pan/pot and gently brown over medium heat and reduce to low for serving. Simmer an hour or longer prior to serving.

1985 Taco Bell Mild Border Sauce 3 cups cold water 2 tsp cornstarch 1 (6-oz) can tomato paste 3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar 4 tsp chili powder 2 tsp salt 1 tsp cayenne pepper Add cold water to a saucepan. Stir in the cornstarch until it is dissolved. Stir in the tomato paste, vinegar, chili powder, salt and cayenne pepper. Stir until well mixed and smooth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5-minutes to thicken. Allow sauce to cool then store in a covered container in the refrigerator. Makes about 3 cups of Mild Border Sauce.

bon appetit
