Chai chia tea Tea

Better than the stuff in the café (latte)

This may look long but after one try I could do it by memory!

Ingredients: serves two

· Two tea bags Orange peako tea*

· 1 Tsp Ground cardamon

· 1 Tsp Ground cinnamon

· 1 Tablespoon brown sugar*

· 1/4 Tsp Ground black pepper *

· 1 Tsp Fresh ginger *

· 1 Cup Milk *

· 1 Cup Water

Notes:

· Can substitute Orange peako for Lipton Yellow Label · Can substitute Milk with any other milk alternative · Some pepper grinders have other spices mixed in, make sure your using just black pepper · Use a zester on the ginger for best result · If sugar is not your ideal, use 1/2 Tblespoon honey and 1/2 Tblespoon molasses to clone taste

Directions :

  • Pour milk and water into a pot with at least 3 inches of room for boil
  • Place pot on stove over medium heat
  • Rip tea bags open and add contents to pot
  • Add sugar
  • Excluding ginger add rest of spices
  • Turn to high
  • Wait for steam then add ginger
  • When boil almost reaches top turn to low so boil falls. Do this 3 - 4 times *
  • Stir
  • Once tea is steeped (flavours infused and colour has become 2-4 times darker) take off heat and strain into your cups*
  • Serve

Notes: ** **Important keep an eye on your boil! It will try to hijack your spices and spread them on the stove top · If you're not using dairy milk the boil will not be as high (with almond or soy milk, not sure with others) so you can just stir it to mix well. · You don't have to strain. Just gets rid of all the spices (clumps). I hear eating the contents of the tea bags after you steep them is good so..

bon appetit
