I want to experiment with my buffalo sauce. I’d like to utilize a fruit of some kind but not quite sure which fruits to try.
I’ve had a buffalo sauce with a hint of citrus (I believe orange) and it was delicious. I’d like to try something else.
I was thinking blueberry or blackberry. Has anyone had yummy hot sauces with a fruity shadow?
My Buffalo recipe is as follows:
2/3 cup hot pepper sauce (such as Frank's RedHot) 1/2 cup cold salted butter 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
DIRECTIONS Combine the hot sauce, butter, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt in a pot and place over medium heat. Bring to a simmer while stirring with a whisk. As soon as the liquid begins to bubble on the sides of the pot, remove from heat, stir with the whisk until cooled.
I also don’t know how to best get the fruity flavor into the recipe. Would you recommend a reduction? Any ideas are welcome!!
