Amber Ale Marinated T-bone Steak

Does anything beat a great T-bone steak? The answer is, of course, nope. Well, how about an amber ale marinated and grilled T-bone steak? All my life I’ve been looking for ways to improve the T-bone, and this simple marinade using the LouLou Amber Ale from Lolo Peak Brewing kicks the steak up a notch. The only issue was the rain is pouring down and the Packers were in the midst of falling to the Broncos. At least, the steak was awesome.

Hardware

  • 2 T-Bone steaks
  • 12 oz. amber ale
  • 2 TBSP brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  • In a 2-gallon freezer bag, mix the brown sugar, garlic, black pepper, kosher salt, and amber ale
  • Place the steaks in the marinade bag and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours
  • Heat the grill to 400°F
  • Take it out of the refrigerator and allow steaks to sit for 5 to 10 minutes
  • Remove steaks from marinade and pat dry with paper towels
  • Brush with olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper
  • Cook for ~5 minutes on each side for medium rare
  • Let steaks rest for 10 minutes
  • Get Your Carnivore On!
