I love making when we have leftovers from a crab dinner. Here is my variation on it, just individual balls instead of one big one (recipe is halved here too). Hope y'all enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 Large package of softened cream cheese
- 1 Can of crab, drained
- 2 Scallions, chopped
- 1 Teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tablespoon of El Yucateco Caribbean Habanero Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
- ¼ Cup of chopped nuts
- Tortilla chips or crackers
Directions
-
Combine the cheese with the crab until soft, add the chopped scallions, the Worcestershire sauce, the El Yucateco Caribbean Habanero Sauce, the lemon juice and form into a ball.
-
Wrap in cling wrap, then place the mixture in the fridge for 2 hours. Roll the cheese ball in the chopped nuts before serving. Serve with tortilla chips or crackers.
Notes: Recipe source. I can never find the Caribbean hot sauce, so I use the XXX extra hot habanero sauce which is my favorite El Yucateco sauce.
bon appetit
