INGREDIENTS 4-5 cups day old bread cut in 1 inch cubes 3/4 cup chopped pecans (or a nut of your choice) 3 extra large eggs 2 cups half & half 2 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 2 teaspoon cardamom 1 teaspoon salt 5 tablespoon butter Serve with maple syrup, ice cream, or whip cream
DIRECTIONS Cut your day old bread in 1 inch cubes and put into a large bowl Mix in your nuts with the cubed bread In a separate bowl, combine eggs, half & half, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, salt, and 4 tablespoon of butter Whisk all the wet ingredients together and then pour into the bread mixture Gently mix the bread into the custard Refrigerate mixture for 30 minutes until bread soaks up all the liquid Use the last tablespoon of butter to grease your baking dish and pour your bread mixture into the dish Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 30 minutes
