3 course dinner - do these go together well?

I am having a few people over for dinner, and wanted to do a nice but not too terribly fancy meal. This is my plan for salad, main, and dessert, but would love some second+ opinions on whether these would be good flavor combinations.

  1. Salad: Red cabbage in light vinaigrette, topped with feta, toasted sesame seeds, and dates that have been lightly tossed in bourbon and stuffed with pecan halves (fresh parsley garnish, optional). (Side question: too much with the dates? Just leave them plain?)

  2. Main: Lamb meatballs with feta and lemon, in a tomato-based sauce, served over orzo (fresh parsley garnish, optional).

  3. Dessert: spiced carrot cake with cream cheese icing; chocolate espresso beans also served.

Too similar? Any clashes? Thanks!

bon appetit
