A tradition I started up last year was hosting a thanksgiving potluck dinner with my friends and neighbors in my dorm, and last year I spent 8 hours making the juiciest, most succulent turkey I had ever eaten, following a relatively simple recipe, however I lost the recipe when my old phone broke and have been unable to find it since.
I've been worried the turkey's legacy wouldn't be able to live up to last year's, and would love if someone would be able to help me find the recipe / re-piece a similar one!
The cooking time wasn't as important, however I remember these key parts:
-
Sliced onions and lemons into Quarters.
-
Juiced the lemons over the turkey.
-
Placed the turkey in an aluminum tray with water, onions and the juiced lemons.
-
Stuffed the remaining onions and lemons inside of the turkey, with a few onions and lemons going under the turkey's skin.
-
Coated the turkey in the liquid it was cooking in every 20-30 minutes.
-
Let the turkey rest for almost an hour afterwards.
-
Bought rosemary (specifically stated by the recipe) to place on and in the turkey, along with salt and pepper.
I don't remember too much else of what I'd done, and it is killing me as the turkey I made was the most moist I, along with most of my guests, had eaten, and I really want to recreate it properly.
If anyone can find the recipe (I believe it was under a common name such as "Simple Turkey Recipe" or something, which is why I've been having such difficulty finding it), or could help me recreate a similar recipe, I'd be eternally grateful!
