My Recipe for Red Wine and Mushroom Gravy

Here it is simmering away

A 1/2 bottle of red wine. I used Casillero Del Diablo Merlot/2013 http://ift.tt/1GSI57f

4 tbs of unsalted butter 4 tbs of all purpose flower 1 1/2 cups of beef broth 1 large container of slice mushrooms

melt butter in a 4 qt sauce pan on medium heat add the 4 tbs of flour and continually stir until you reach a dark tan/light brown color http://ift.tt/1NmjzIt

then add in the 1/2 bottle of wine and mix until smooth and let simmer for about 5 minutes.

Add the beef broth and let simmer for another 5 minutes

Add the mushrooms and let simmer for 10 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender.

Add salt/dried beef broth and pepper to taste.
