Nutella Tiramisu in a Jar (Classic Italian Dessert with a Modern Twist)

So this a classic recipe but instead of putting it in a dish I added it to a mason jar and I also added big dollop of Nutella. IT really hits on the spot. If anyone tries out the recipe PLEASE let me know. :)

Here is the Video for folks that are more visual: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lohz7UfMkaQ

Ingredients:

• Mascarpone cheese – 16 oz • Granulated sugar – ¾ cup • Egg yolks - 6 • Baileys Irish Cream – 1 shot • Nutella – 1 or 2 dollops • Vanilla extract – ½ tsp • Heavy whipping cream – 2 cups • Confectioner sugar – 2 tbsp • Ladyfingers (cut in pieces)– 2 x • 3 oz packs • Espresso or any other strong coffee of your choice – ¼ cup • Cocoa powder – to sprinkle

Recipe:

  1. In a low heat double boiler, whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale. Make sure to whisk vigorously. Do not to let the eggs sit to long without whisking to prevent from cooking too fast. Now add in the vanilla extract, mascarpone cheese, baileys and Nutella and mix some more. Let it cool.

  2. In a separate bowl, whip up the heavy cream and confectionary sugar to stiff peaks.

  3. Add a quarter of the whipped cream to the mascarpone cheese mix and fold in. This will make it light and airy.

  4. Layer the lady fingers on the bottom of the jar and drizzle the coffee on top of it until well soaked.

  5. Add a layer of the mascarpone cheese mixture.

  6. Now pipe in a layer of the whipped cream.

  7. Repeat steps 4 to 6.

  8. Sprinkle some cocoa powder and garnish with ladyfingers for a finishing touch.

  9. Chill in the fridge over night and enjoy!

bon appetit
