Looking for tips tricks and secrets to make my good lasagne the best.

I've got my basic lasagne recipe down, but I'm looking for tricks and secret weapons to take a good lasagne to a GREAT lasagne. What's your secret?

My usual ingredients are Italian sausage/ground beef mix, ricotta, parm, mozz, homemade sauce, sliced black olives (trust me, it's awesome), and noodles. What can I add or subtract to make it the best that it can be?
