*For the cake:

3 cups flour

1 Tbsp baking powder
- 2 sticks (1 cup) butter, room temperature
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs, room temperature
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk, room temperature
- For the buttercream frosting:
- 2 sticks butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

2-4 Tbsp milk
- Red gel food coloring
- To decorate:
- 1 ½ cups shredded coconut, toasted

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease two donut pans with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Mix in eggs, beating after each addition. Add vanilla and combine. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, beginning and ending with the dry.

Divide batter between the pans, then bake for 20 minutes.

Prepare the frosting. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract, and add enough milk to reach desired consistency. Color with red food coloring.

Frost cakes with red frosting. Sprinkle with toasted coconut. Top with candies.
