So I have a hankering for the chicken and rice I grew up with. I know chicken and rice is a very broad dish and could bring up a ton of different variations. I am giving the "recipe" that my family used, so maybe we can find a better way to get a similar taste.
Anyway, here is the recipe my grandmother used:
Bone in chicken thighs
Rice
Can of cream of mushroom + can filled with water
Can of French onion soup + can filled with water
Throw together raw in a casserole dish, cover, and bake in the oven 2 hours.
I don't buy anything in cans anymore (aside from tomatoes). So, how could I replicate a similar taste of this recipe? I have bone broth that I made from the last time we went out for wings. And I am still planning on using chicken thighs.
