Ingredients
- 1 package of sausage (I browned them and then cut them up and finished cooking them)
- 1/2 lb. shrimp
- 1 whole onion, julienned
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- noodles (any kind works with this. I used penne this time around, but I've also used vermicelli)
- 11 fluid oz heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese
- 1/3 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp butter
- salt
- pepper
- oil (no specific measurement I just eyed it)
Cooking
- in a saute/sauce/frying pan, put half the garlic in the pan and pour in the heavy whipping cream and butter. heat up on high heat until the cream starts to boil a bit, then turn the heat down to very low, add in the cumin and parmesane and let simmer, while stirring for a few seconds from time to time.
- in another frying pan, pour in the oil and add in the onion and the rest of the garlic. once the onion is soft and you can smell the garlic, add in the sausage and cook until the sausage fat starts to seep into the pan, then add in the shrimp and cook until shrimp turns pink. keep checking on and stirring the alfredo sauce.
- in a pot, boil water and add noodles. drain the noodles. pour the noodles and the shrimp, sausage, onion, garlic mix into the alfredo sauce and mix and stir until covered to your liking.
- to serve, plate up and add the salt and pepper to your liking and garnish with some more parmesane and chiffonade basil. I served this with a mixed green salad and garlic bread. I've also served this with bruschetta.
