Ingredients/Equipment:
-
1 pint heavy whipping cream
-
Large bowl of ice water
-
Stand mixer with wire whisk attachment
Directions:
-
Pour heavy cream in mixing bowl.
-
Gradually increase speed to medium.
-
Mix until cream breaks. It will make a sloshing sound. (This takes around 5-10 mins of mixing)
-
Pour off butter milk into separate container. (Yummy stuff there. Don't throw it away)
-
Press butter mixture with spoon or spatula and run ice water over it until the water runs clear. Voila! Butter.
I have to admit, I thought this was going to be way more challenging than it was or that the butter wasn't going to taste as amazing as the high-end, store bought stuff. Not only was this super easy and tasted just as good, if not better, than the high-end butter, but it's cheaper. I honestly don't know if I will ever buy butter again.
bon appetit
