Crispy Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (approx. 3 lbs)
  • 1 can of dark beer
  • 1 tbsp pink himalayan salt
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine salt, baking powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika in a small bowl and mix well.
  3. Cover the chicken in the dry rub mix, inside and out. Don’t forget to get some under the skin, too!
  4. Pour out (or drink) half of the beer, and place it on baking pan.
  5. Set the chicken on the beer can, inserting it into the cavity of the chicken.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour 15 minutes, or until chicken reaches a temperature of 165°F.
  7. Allow chicken to cool, and carefully remove from the beer can. Careful to not spill the beer!
  8. Pour out the beer. Eat delicious chicken.
