Pizza sauce... can I add mascarpone into the sauce mix instead of adding it as a topping?

For my pizza sauce I use concentrated tomato paste/puree with added water, garlic and herbs...and usually add dollops of mascarpone on top when building my pizza.

It would be easier to add the mascarpone in to the sauce mix and stir it in, that way it is evenly spread, and saves trying to scoop out small dollops from the tub when making the pizza, but this doesn't seem to be common ingredient of the sauce itself...is there a downside?
