So, long story as short as possible: it's my friends potluck birthday picnic dinner on Saturday, and I said I would bring an entrée. What I wasn't thinking about was the fact that food would be out for about four or five hours after I left the house before being eaten. There will be coolers, but we're not sure if we'll have a small BBQ or not.
My original idea was lasagna (they love lasagna), but I've never tried it cold, and I'm worried that being out for that long might not be very safe.
So I'm looking at other options, but the only thing I've found for "entrées" is sandwiches, and while there's some amazing ones out there, I was hoping for something a bit more "dinnery".
Any ideas, suggestions, or words of wisdom about leaving food out for hours would be greatly appreciated!
