Buttermilk Biscuits
- 1 1/2 cup ap flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (milk + a dash of vinegar)
- Egg Wash (1 egg + dash of water)
- 375 for 20 minutos Heat your oven to 375 and put your cast iron skillet or baking sheet in the oven.
Mix milk and a little bit of vinegar and set aside.
Stir together all the dry ingredients (flour, powder, soda, salt)
Cut the butter into small cubes (the smaller the better) then add it to the dry mixture.
Break apart the butter into pea sized pieces with your fingers.
Stir in the buttermilk until all the flour is incorporated.
Lightly flour a surface and press the dough into the thickness you want.
Cut out biscuit shaped biscuits with a glass or anything with the diameter you want yo!
Brush your biscuits with egg wash to give it the nice sheen later.
Take your pan out of the oven and lay your biscuits to rest.
Bake for 20 minutes until the time is up.
They should be hot, be careful dudes.
