Some of my best dessert recipes!

I figured I'd share them since I can't open that bakery.... Some are from cook books from the 1950s and 60s, some are from my granma, some are from online and they've all made plenty of people happy. Enjoy!

All temperatures are in Fahrenheit.

Cornbread Cake

• 1 cup cornmeal (yellow or white)

• 3 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 1/3 cups white sugar

• 2 tablespoons baking powder

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 2/3 cup vegetable oil

• 1/3 cup melted butter

• 2 tablespoons honey

• 4 eggs, beaten

• 2 ½ cups whole milk

• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease baking dish

  2. Stir above ingredients in a mixing bowl until thick and smooth

  3. Pour batter in prepared baking dish. Do not fill dish to top, as cornbread will rise. Bake for 45 minutes

Crop Duster Cookies

• ½ cup butter, softened

• ½ cup canola oil

• ½ cup white sugar

• ½ cup confectioners’ sugar

• 1 egg

• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

• 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

• ½ teaspoon cream of tartar

• Additional sugar

  1. Mix above ingredients.

  2. Cover and chill for several hours

  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  4. Place teaspoonful of dough on ungreased baking pan. Flatten with a fork and sprinkle with sugar

  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until lightly brown.

***Add 2 ½ tablespoons of peanut butter to make peanut butter cookies

Basic Brownies

• ½ cup melted butter

• 1 cup white sugar

• 2 eggs

• ½ cup self-rising flour

• 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

• ¼ teaspoon salt

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease a baking pan

  2. Mix together butter and sugar. Add eggs. Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl and stir in with wet mixture. Stir in vanilla.

  3. Spread evenly into pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, cut into squares when cool

Vanilla Cake

• 2/3 cup softened butter

• ¾ cup superfine sugar

• 1 ½ cups self-rising flour

• 3 eggs

• 1-2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease pan

  2. In this order! Mix butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in 1 egg at a time. Add vanilla and flour until mixed

  3. Spoon batter into pan

  4. Bake for about 18-20 minutes

Butter = oil

Milk = water

Eggs = bananas

Flour = coconut flour

And to make confectioners sugar if you don't have it, just throw the white sugar in a blender and pulse until its fluffy enough.

bon appetit
