Hey everyone I've been trying to perfect a "Just add water" brownie mix, but I just can't get the texture right.
I'll admit, I've been using protein powder in place of flour and sugar in order to make the brownies more healthy.
Now, I think I have a good recipe that comes out moist, and what I'd consider great tasting (good enough to even serve at a pot luck!); however, when I try to remove the applesauce, and just add water to the mix, it becomes very very dry.
I've tried adding in powdered milk, but it doesn't seem to help.
I've tried adding in shortening, but it doesn't seem to help.
I just now tried to add in some ground flax seed, but that didn't seem to help either.
Anyone have any tips on what I can do to help improve the texture of the dense-brick I've been making?
bon appetit
