Gin Chicken

I printed this recipe out 22 years ago from a usenet site because it seemed interesting. I've been too busy to try but think I want to give it a shot. Any concerns about this much alcohol over an open flame? Also, no salt?

Session Name: rudy

A summertime dish. Best if prepared in a house on a lake but other venues will serve as well.

1 1/2 lbs. mixed chicken parts ( or enough to fill your largest covered skillet)

1 thinly sliced lime

3-4 Juniper berries (optional)

Fresh ground pepper

Bombay Gin

Arrange chicken parts in a large skillet. Pour gin to a depth of 1/4 inches or so and arrange lime slices o'er top the chicken. Juniper berries are the essence of gin's flavor and will boost the effect of the dish if you can crush 3 or 4 of them into the mixture. Grind fresh pepper to taste. Cook over lowest heat for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until chicken falls off the bones.

bon appetit
