These will take care of your sugar fix without compromising your dietary needs. Super yummy, peppermint and creamy bliss! You can enjoy these with or without the chocolate sauce. We are huge fans of mint and chocolate, but sometimes we just eat them without the chocolate. Either way, they are super yummy!

Peppermint is great for digestion and mental clarity. It also helps mood, headaches and asthma. Find out more about the amazing benefits of peppermint here. Chocolate helps keep blood pressure down and it also contains tons of antioxidants, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, zinc and selenium.
I also love the coconut oil benefits in this recipe because coconut oil has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. The oil is great for skin health and doesn’t store as fat, it is used as energy in the body. So, with all those great benefits, this treat is one to keep around. Check out the amazing benefits of coconut oil here.
Ingredients
*2 cups unsweetened, shredded coconut *1/4 cup melted coconut oil *3 Tablespoons pure maple syrup, or honey if not vegan *1/8 teaspoon Himalaya Pink Sea Salt *5 drops pure peppermint oil
For the chocolate:
*1/4 cup cocoa powder or raw cacao *1 Tablespoon Maple syrup or honey if not vegan *1/8 teaspoon sea salt, Himalayan or Celtic *1/3 cup melted coconut oil *3 drops pure peppermint oil for extra peppermint flavor
Instructions
- For the hearts: Place the coconut oil, syrup and coconut into a blender and blend until smooth. This takes some patience as you will need to scrape the sides often until well blended.
- Pour the blended coconut into a bowl and add the peppermint drops and salt, stir well.
- Spoon the mixture into candy molds and freeze for at least an hour, until firm.
- Remove the candy from the molds and serve as is, or pour chocolate sauce over them first. The chocolate sauce will harden like magic shell.
- For the chocolate sauce combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until smooth. Pour over the frozen chocolate hearts...or whatever shape you choose. Enjoy!!!
bon appetit
