Recipe For Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies (With Smarties On Top)

Ingredients: ½ cup of unsalted butter (room temperature) ½ cup granulated sugar ½ cup brown sugar (packed) 1 Egg whole (white + yolk) 1 tsp vanilla essence 1 ½ cup All-purpose Flour (sifted) ½ tsp baking soda (or baking powder) 1 tsp water (hot) ¼ tsp of salt 1 cup chocolate chip ½ cup walnut chopped (optional) Smarties as required

Method:

Preheat oven at 175 degree celcius. Cream together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy. You may want to use an electric beater/mixer for this.

Drop the egg and beat more. Add vanilla essence.

Dissolve baking soda in 1 tbsp of hot water and add it to your flour. Add the salt too.

Now, add the flour in your mixer and mix until just incorporated.

Throw in the cup of chocolate chips into your mixer. Mix. (Remember the tip, no over-mixing now)

Your batter dough is ready. Now you can either refrigerate it (refer to above tips) or drop the batter by large spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking tray.

Add smarties on top of each cookie dough.

Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are nicely brown.

Immediately remove from the hot baking tray onto a cooling wire rack. When cooled completely, keep in an airtight jar.
