What makes a good hot dog bun?

I got a shipment of different sossies a few days ago, so now Im looking to find a perfect hot dog bun recipe.


I've made basic bread a few times, but really Im not an experienced baker, so I don't know what I should be looking for.

Not sure if I need fresh yeast, or whether I can get by with instant? I saw some brioche hot dog buns too, but feels like they might be a bit cakey rather than soft and pillowy.

Any great recipes you can share please?

Ultimately Im looking for something to replicate a good USA-style hotdog, dog is about 7 inches long, and bun needs to be able to stand up to a lot of toppings.
