These Orange glazed scones provide a nice cross between a biscuit and cake. They have a texture that is dense but also soft and crumbly. These golden brown scones provide a wonderful crusty outer coating topped with a sweet orange glaze. The orange zest mixed through the scone also provides an added subtle orange taste. These sweet scones provide a great orange flavour in each bite.
Ingredients:
• 2 1/2 cups Plain Flour
• 4 tbsp White Sugar separate into two tbsp amounts.
• 1 tbsp Baking Powder

• 2 Eggs
• 1 cup Thickened Cream separate into 3/4 cup and 1/4 cup measurements.
• Orange Zest zest from 2 Oranges
Orange Glaze
• 1 cup Icing Sugar sifted
• 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
• 3 tbsp Orange Juice
Instructions:
1. In a medium bowl, add eggs, 3/4 cup thickened cream and orange zest. Mix until fully combined. Set aside.
2. Preheat oven to 200°C (fan forced).
3. In a large bowl, add flour, 2 tbsp sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir to combine.

9. Cut dough into 9 equal sized rectangles and separate. Then cut each rectangle in half creating two triangle shapes.
10. Place each triangle shape onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Place each triangle about 2 cms apart to allow for expansion when cooking.
11. Brush each scone with the remaining thickened cream (1/4 cup) and sprinkle each scone with remaining white sugar (2 tbsp).
12. Place tray in oven and cook for about 15 - 16 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a wire rack
