Hello! My friend recently travelled and got himself a nice dose of hepatitis A. He's recovering nicely but needs to watch his diet as his liver function results were very poor and will take weeks to heal. I'm looking after him and have read up on what he needs to stay away from: salt, alcohol, fats, dairy etc, but ideas are running out fast.
Does anyone know any more recipes that I can try to keep it interesting and not strain his liver? Or better yet has anyone kept to this kind of diet and can recommend more of what they should/shouldn't eat? I'm more a foodie than a nutritionist and don't want him to be put off eating because he's bored of the same things. (He needs to regain loads of weight, didn't eat solids for almost 2 weeks).
Last night I made grilled fish with rice and green beans. I have chicken fillet on the menu for tonight, but he has sworn off green salads and fruit, so not sure what I will be making with that yet :/
bon appetit
